Belize International Airport
Tropic Air offers hourly flights between Belize International airport and most destinations throughout Belize.
The Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) was built in 1943. It is named after Philip Stanley Wilberforce Goldson an influential Belizean politician who died in 2001. PGIA is the only international airport in Belize and is located 10 miles outside Belize City in Ladyville. The airport is served by the following airlines internationally:-American Airlines, Avianca, United, Delta, US Airways and Southwest flying to the following International destinations – Miami, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Newark, San Salvador, Chicago. Tropic Air offers scheduled flights from the International airport to Flores Guatemala City, in Guatemala; San Pedro Sula, Roatan and Tegucigalpa in Honduras; Merida and Cancun in Mexico.
Copa will start flying from Panama City in December 2015. The airport is currently expanding to allow for all the extra flights and a new terminal is due to be completed in the next couple of years.
All arriving passengers to Belize embark at the International airport, enter immigration, pass through baggage claim and customs. Once through into the arrivals area our friendly Tropic representative will be there to guide you onto your next domestic flight within the country. Tropic offers over 250 daily scheduled flights within Belize to 18 destinations in 4 different countries.
