Belize Belize Vacation

"We just returned from our vacation to Ambergris Island. The Bamboo House reminded us of our cottage in Ontario. It has everything you need to be comfortable, but is still rustic enough. Our group of 13 only had one complaint really, and that was the fact that there was no hot water for the showers. A hot shower would have been sooooo nice to remove the day's sunscreen and sweat. The owners/hosts were nice and informative as to what we should see and do on the island or mainland. If you like having pets around, their 2 dogs and Balu the cat are good company while lounging on the many decks or playing ping pong in the lower Palapa. The staff are great. Camilla made us some really yummy meals. Edwin was always available to run out and pick up something up for us or run an errand. The rooms were attended to daily - house keeping was good and the grounds were kept nicely as well. Summary: If you want 5 star, this is not it. But, whatever it's downfalls and quirkiness; was a fun place to stay. Good location, nice people, very safe, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Nice to meet you Bertrand, Kimberley and Noah, and to the rest of the staff at Bamboo house, Ambergris Caye."
