Participate on this project in Belize and help out in public hospitals and clinics that serve citizens in Belize irrespective of their income. Volunteers will gain valuable clinical experience as well as boosting your CV for future employers and university admissions as you will be providing help where it is most needed. If you are a pre-med student looking for experience to help you get a feel for clinical work overseas before you start medical school and want to be involved in a formalized appraisal system to help with university credit, rotation and placement requirements, this is a great formal programme that allows you to achieve this. Volunteers work alongside a local qualified doctor who will act as your mentor throughout your stay. For students who wish to focus on a specific area of medicine, we might be able to place you on a project with your interest. This elective is designed to provide hands on experience to students prior to graduating.
